William Fennessey, 74, passed away peacefully on April 28th after a short battle with cancer. Bill was born in Northampton to Richard and Mathilda Fennessey on January 4, 1951 and grew up in Florence. He graduated from Northampton High School in 1968 and Bridgewater State University in 1972.


Bill worked as a realtor in the area for over 30 years. He will be well remembered for his generous volunteer work beginning with coordinating a farmer’s market in Williamsburg. He volunteered his time to historic Deerfield, Academy of Music events, and the Council on Aging, to name a few. Bill also enjoyed traveling, including scenic drives on one of his motorcycles or in his cherished vintage Mercedes ‘Daisy’.


Bill leaves his two sons, Daniel and Richard Fennessey, his two grandsons, Harrison and Calvin Fennessey and their mother Johana Sze. Bill was predeceased by his parents, and his brother Dennis who died in 1983.


Williamsburg Funeral Home was entrusted with his cremation.
