It is with sad hearts and warm memories that we announce the peaceful passing of Sally Land Cornish of Shelburne Falls on May 1, 2021 at the Hospice of the Fisher Home. Sally was the devoted wife of the late Charles Cornish Jr. They were married 36 years and led a very loving and adventurous life together. They traveled extensively all around the world and Sally continued those adventures after Charlie’s passing in 1993. Sally and Charlie lived in many different communities due to his career, moving every 7- 9 years and making friends in numerous locals. Sally, always an industrious person, worked varied and different jobs in her lifetime as they moved and, also, volunteered for many different organizations. Sally leaves a daughter, Virginia C. Clark, a son, Charles Cornish III, a daughter-in-law, Lisa Cornish, and three grandchildren, Andrew Cornish, Beth Haley, and Samantha Cornish. While Sally desired to have a private funeral service, she wanted her friends in the Shelburne Falls area to know that their kind, welcoming ways made her stay, over the last few years, very wonderful. Donations in Sally’s memory can be made to the Bridge of Flowers in Shelburne Falls, P.O. Box 335, Shelburne Falls, MA 01370 or on their website https://www.bridgeofflowersmass.org/copy-of-memorial-gifts. Her cremation was entrusted to the Williamsburg Funeral Home www.hampshirecremation.com.
