Robert W. Recos, 85, of Sugar Hill Road in Chesterfield passed on March 29, 2022 at Linda Manor Nursing Home. Born in Petersham June 16, 1936, he was the son of the late Gabriel and Anna (Koskie) Recos. He was a graduate of Worcester College and served in the Army stationed in Germany. Bob worked for New England Power Service Company as an internal auditor for 12 years before becoming district manager with National Grid where he worked for 25 years before his retirement. A dedicated public servant he was a former Hampshire County Councilor, Chesterfield Select Board Member, Conservation Commission member, Moth Superintendent, and served on Chesterfield’s Senior Center Oversight and Building Committees. Bob was also a Justice of the Peace.
Bob loved working on his and Nancy’s farmhouse in Chesterfield. His favorite activity was riding the tractor through the fields and rebuilding stonewalls. He enjoyed vacationing in Sanibel during the cold winters.
Bob is survived by his wife Nancy, his sister-in law Shirley Recos, daughter Susanne Recos, son Robert Recos, step-daughters Kathy (Larry) Kellogg, Lynn Harlow, Sue Waite, and step-son Robert (Bonnie) Waite, brother in-laws Bob (Audrey) Wade, Jim (Sandy) Wade, and Dennis (Lorraine) Wade, seven grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his brothers Gabe, George, and Richard Recos, step-daughter Sharon Taylor, grandsons Richard Kellogg and Shem Kellogg and brother in-law Don (Kathy) Wade.
Williamsburg Funeral Home is entrusted with his cremation. A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
