Patrick Twomey

Patrick Twomey of 28 Springmeadow Lane, Hampden passed away on February 24, 2021.


Born on April 30, 1954 in Stafford Springs, Ct, Patrick lived most of his life in the town of Hampden. He graduated from Minnechaug Regional High School in 1972. An active and able athlete, Pat was an outstanding member of both the varsity baseball and varsity soccer teams during all four of his high school years.


He was employed at the Monson Development Center in Monson where he worked for over 25 years until his retirement in 2011. He made many friends at Monson and was well known for his compassion and skill in working with clients.


Pat was an avid outdoorsman and a very dedicated hunter. He spent hours observing wildlife, making every effort to understand their needs and behavior. His hunting partners appreciated Pat’s expertise and enjoyed many hours in the field with him.


In addition to his daughter, Melissa Twomey and her husband Victor Castillero of Arlington, Va, Her mother, Carol Twomey of Westfield, MA Pat leaves behind his sisters, Judy Hernandez of Guatemala, Janice Doyle of Saint Johnsbury, Vt, Joanne Sanderson of Greenfield, Ma, Jean Twomey of Hampden, Ma and his brother John Twomey of Montville, Me and numerous nieces, and nephews. Additionally, Pat leaves behind a number of good friends and hunting buddies, including Lance Trevallion, Frank Bongiorni and Howard Peck, among many others.


Patrick was predeceased by his father, John Twomey, his mother, Honor Twomey, and his brother, Michael Twomey, His beloved nephews Gary and Ryan Sanderson.
