Mark A Landy 1954-2022


Ashfield, MA — Mark A Landy, of Ashfield, MA died February 9th, 2022 at the Cooley Dickinson Hospital, after a valiant struggle with Parkinson's Disease, surrounded by friends and family, as he was in life.


Mark was born in Plattsburgh, New York in 1954, the second son of Beverly and Jack Landy, and was raised in Massena and Potsdam, New York.


Mark attended Oberlin College and graduated from Hampshire College. He became one of the early managers of The Iron Horse, and then longtime president of Danco Kitchens in Hatfield. His next-to-final job was as a carpenter on a crew which lead ultimately to forming his own building company, Mark A Landy- Design/Build Services, which he ran for many years.


Mark was known for his integrity, witty humor, generosity, and loyal friendships.


He is survived by his wife Sally Gulmi-Landy, his daughters Wheatley Gulmi-Landy and Zoey Gulmi-Landy, his son Wilder Gulmi-Landy, his domestic partner Peggy Grose, his brother David Landy, his sister Rebecca Landy, and his grandchildren Luca, Lulzim, and Cosette.


A memorial celebration of Mark's life is being planned for a warmer month at his home in Ashfield. The Williamsburg Funeral Home in Williamsburg, MA is in charge of arrangements.
