Louise King (Lyons), 68, of Chicopee, passed away peacefully at home on March, 2, 2021, with family by her side. She was a lifelong resident of Chicopee, where she attended Chicopee Comprehensive High School. She spent her life working in various establishments in the service industry, most notably the Crest Room and Geraldine’s. She was an avid true crime junkie, watched every bad horror movie, enjoyed entertaining, and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Louise is survived by her companion of 31 years, John McCarthy; her daughter Erin Benjamin-Diaz and her partner Darlene Belle-Isle, of West Springfield; and daughter Joycilee King, of Chicopee. She is also survived by three granddaughters: Madeline, Jenna, and Jaidalee, as well as her brother David Lyons and his wife Lisa, of Hubert, NC; sister Kathryn Brown (Lyons) and significant other Tim Bastian, of Vanceboro, NC; and brother Arthur Lyons III, of Florida; as well as nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her wonderful parents, Shirley and Arthur Lyons; her son, Matthew McCarthy; and her nephew, Joey Lyons. She will be missed by her friends and family, especially by her good friend Celina Caron.
