Elizabeth Louise Korowski passed away unexpectedly 11/07/25 at Baystate Medical Center with loving family by her side. She was born in Northampton 11/20/50 the daughter of the late Esther and Peter Korowski. She was predeceased by her brother David.
Beth/Liz was raised in Goshen and attended local public schools until graduating from high school at Rhinebeck Country School in New York. Life wasn’t easy for her as she had some learning challenges and was born with some physical issues that worsened as she aged and was no longer able to be independent and ambulatory. She had a great sense of humor but could also strongly express her frustration as she became more dependent. She lived with her parents until 2011 when she moved to a DDS community group home in Greenfield which became her home as she aged. The staff at Greenfield became extended family and they provided a loving caring environment. Like all families, she had her favorites and you know who you are. She struggled with change when the Greenfield home closed recently and she was moved to a new group home with new staff a few months ago.
She worked at Riverside Industries for many years and retired in 2016 as the most senior client there. She loved animals particularly cats and had many cat themed possessions. Her other love was flowers and she enjoyed going out every week to pick out her bouquet at the florist. She also enjoyed going out to eat and coming to family dinners. Dessert was always her favorite part of the meal!
She leaves behind her sister Nina Pinger of Goshen, cousins Karen Karowski of Hatfield and Annette Korowski of Goshen, Aunt Helen, and many other cousins as well as the Conway Street group home staff to whom we will forever be grateful for their care and friendship.
There will be a Celebration of Life with close family and friends to be announced and a small graveside service in the Spring at the Goshen cemetery.
Donations may be made to Dakin Animal Shelter in Springfield.
Williamsburg Funeral Home in Haydenville, MA was entrusted with her cremation.
