Donald B. Sherwood 1940-2025

Donald B. Sherwood, 85, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025. He was born on May 6, 1940, to the late Dorothy G. (Perry) and John C. Sherwood.

Donald was predeceased by his beloved wife of 55 years, Priscilla (Harrington) Sherwood, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and family. After her passing, Don moved to South Hadley to be closer to his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Stacey Chapley and her husband Paul, and Donald B. Sherwood Jr. and his wife Sonja. Donald was a proud grandfather to Zachariah Chapley, Lt. Caleb Chapley, Joshua Chapley and his wife Alexandra, Gabriel Chapley and his wife, Morgan Sherwood, and John Sherwood, He was also blessed with a great-granddaughter, Violet Chapley. He also leaves behind his brother, Robert Sherwood, and his wife Elizabeth, as well as many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.

A graduate of Billerica Memorial High School, Class of 1958, Don spent most of his life in Billerica, where he and Cilla raised their family and built a lifetime of friendships. He enjoyed simple pleasures like time spent on the lake in Conway, NH, or sitting by Shaw’s dock in New Harbor, Maine, taking in the peaceful view he so loved.
