David A. Laprade 1937 - 2025

David A. Laprade, 87, of Westhampton, died peacefully on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at the Cooley Dickenson Hospital.
Born in Northampton, December 29, 1937 to Victor A. Laprade and Vivian T. (Bernier) Laprade. He attended Northampton schools.
Dave is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary (Payson) Laprade and his three children: Laura Clark and her husband, Nathan, of Chesterfield, MA, Michael Laprade and his wife, Cheryl, of Westhampton, MA, and Stephen Laprade and his wife Jodie, of West Palm Beach, FL, as well as 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Dave served in the Army National Guard. He worked in appliance repair at three local businesses for many years, and at Pro Brush and then Perstorp, Inc.
In his retirement he worked part-time for All Star Siding and as a home handyman. He was a member of the First Congregational Church in Chesterfield.
Dave was a dedicated scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 209 in Westhampton for 29 years and continued to be active in the Boy Scouts for more than 20 years after retiring as Scoutmaster.
He and his wife enjoyed square dancing, and camping. Dave and his sons ran a maple sugaring business for over 50 years. Dave’s hobbies included model railroading and beadwork and home remodeling of his own home as well as the homes of his family.
He was a devoted family man and a loving husband and father and enriched the lives of everyone who knew him.
A celebration of life service and burial will be private.
There will be a Boy Scout (Order of the Arrow) Broken Arrow ceremony to honor Dave, on September 27, 2025 at 5 pm at the Moses Scout Reservation , 310 Birch Hill Rd, Russell, MA 01071
Memorial gifts may be made to: The David Laprade Memorial Fund at: Florence Bank, 5 Main Street, Easthampton, MA 01027. This fund was set up to support Westhampton Cub Scout Pack 209 and Westhampton Boy Scout Troop 209. Williamsburg Funeral Home was entrusted with his care.
