Dale L. Tennyson, 72, passed away on August 30, 2021 at Cooley Dickinson Hospital after a battle with Covid. Born in Champaign, Illinois on June 27, 1949, the son of George and Joyce Ellen (Weisner) Tennyson. He grew up in Northampton, and graduated from Smith Vocational High School class of 1969. He worked at the Northampton State Hospital, after High School he started his own landscaping business, following that he took a job at Agway in their distribution center, he went on to work for several years in maintenance at Charlene Manor Nursing Home in Greenfield and then for Community Builders Company. Dale was always a helpful person, whether it was at work or home, he was always looking to see if he could find some good he could do for his community. His joys in life included being outdoors where he loved to fish and hunt. As anyone who knew him would attest, his faith was true. As a young man he began attending the Bible Baptist Church in Hatfield MA where on April 3, 1966 he was born again by the Spirit of the Living God, and his life was transformed. In the early 1970s this church moved to Florence Rd. In the mid 80's he joined the Faith Baptist Church on Florence Rd where he served faithfully for nearly 35 years, until joining the Pioneer Valley Baptist Church in Westfield. Dale Will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Linda I. (Barlow) Tennyson, his son Kenneth and wife Cynthia Tennyson and his daughter Joy Ellen and husband Joseph Vaughan. He was a beloved grandfather to many. Dale was predeceased by his son James M. Tennyson on February 24, 2020. He also leaves a sister Jane Myers and was predeceased by a brother David and sister Gale. Family and friends are welcome to attend a graveside service at Village Hill Cemetery in Williamsburg this Friday, September 10 meeting at 1:30 PM graveside. The Williamsburg Funeral Home was entrusted with his services.
