Stephen W. Carriere, 60, of Williamsburg, MA, also known widely as Taz, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018 surrounded by family. Taz was born in Bennington, Vermont on March 17, 1958 the son of Francis Carriere and Agnes Peavy Carriere.
He graduated from Mt. Anthony Union High School in 1977. Many of his years were spent skiing and working at Mt. Snow and Stratton where he invigorated and entertained his numerous friends and co-workers. He married his ski partner and sweetheart Doranda (Dee) Culver on June 23,1984.
Following a snowcat accident from which he survived a severe injury, Taz and Dee relocated to Williamsburg, MA , where Taz worked with his father-in-law, Percy Culver.
Taz was a heavy machine operator, and also was a commercial truck driver for 23 years. His greatest joy was hunting, fishing and simply being outdoors. He took pride as a provider for his family and instilled a strong work ethic in his three children.
The family enjoyed each other's company skiing, swimming, camping, and traveling. Taz is survived by his wife, Dee, a daughter Rachael and her twin sons, Jameson and Nathaniel, a daughter Jordan and her husband Ruben, a son Caleb and significant other Shelby. Taz will be missed by his family, his mother, Agnes Carriere, his siblings, John, Lydia, Kristina, Debra, along with their partners; and his several nieces, nephews, great nephews and great niece.
Taz was preceded in death by his father Francis S. Carriere, his sister, Susan de Samsonow and his father and mother in- law, Percy and Marilyn Culver. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and the many longtime friends who remember his contrary nature and loud, boisterous laugh and his loyal friendship.
