Gladys (Rattell) Woloss (1925 - 2017)

SOUTH DEERFIELD - Gladys (Rattell) Woloss, 91, of South Deerfield, died peacefully Jan. 30, 2017, at home surrounded by her loved ones. Gladys was born Sept. 4, 1925, in Chicopee, to Harrington Peter Rattell and Mary Hargadon Rattell. She grew up in the greater Springfield area and was predeceased by her brothers Edward, Robert, Earl and Francis. Gladys married the love of her life, Rudolph Anthony Woloss, May 8, 1948. They were married for 65 years before his death in 2013. Gladys would tell anyone, without question, her greatest achievement was her family. She is survived by her children Katherine Jaycox, Bob Woloss and wife Linda, and Rudy Woloss and wife Eileen; and her grandchildren Thomas Peterson and wife Elizabeth, Kristany Jaycox and fiance Michael Lukas, Sarah Sites and husband Patrick, Benjamin Woloss and wife Lisa, Jennifer Amor and husband AJ, Rudi, Doug, and Keegan Woloss, and Jordan Krysczuk. Gladys is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, Deanna, Marcus, Devon, Samantha, Mariah, Austin, Joshua, Eli, Emily, Ella, and Eliana and three great-great-grandchildren Bella, Timothy, and Judah, as well as several nieces and nephews. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank Kathleen Newman and Michelle Rogalski for their loving devotion and care of our mom during her last days. Gladys' quick wit, charm, and dancing would put a smile on the face of anyone who knew her. She was a joy to be around and will be greatly missed. A private interment will be held at the Veteran's Cemetery in Agawam, in the Spring, followed by a celebration of life.
