William M. Wiley - Bill, 65, of Chicopee, was called home on Thursday, July 9, 2026.
Born in Anchorage, Alaska, on February 27, 1961, Bill was the beloved son of Kenneth Wiley and Paulette E. (Ouellette) Wiley. During his childhood, his parents were in the Air Force, Bill traveled the world with his family before they settled in South Hadley, MA, where he graduated from Dean Technical High School in Holyoke, MA. He later made his home in Chicopee with his own family.
Bill dedicated his entire career to working as a machinist and tool maker. He took great pride in his craft, earning the respect of those who worked alongside him through his skill, precision, and strong work ethic.
Outside of work, Bill was a man who truly loved the outdoors. Whether he was hunting, fishing, or simply enjoying time outside, he found peace in nature. He was known for his quick wit and easygoing outlook on life. Bill had a wonderful sense of humor and never took himself too seriously, making those around him laugh with his jokes and stories.
To his family, he was affectionately known as "Fire Marshal Bill" because of his unmatched enthusiasm for building the perfect bonfire. Some of their favorite memories are of sitting around the fire with Bill, sharing stories and laughter. Those gatherings reflected who he was best - a man who found happiness in simple pleasures, his family, and nature.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Paulette Wiley, and his brother, Steven G. Wiley.
He leaves his loving children, Shane Wiley and William Wiley; his cherished grandson and favorite person in the world, Caleb Wiley; his brothers, Kenneth P. Wiley and Charles K. Wiley; his sister, Cynthia M. Laramee; along with his nieces and nephews, Colleen and Caitlin Wiley, David and Samantha Laramee, and many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
There will be a private Celebration of Life.
