Alex was a radiant, complex, and deeply feeling soul; spunky, fearless, and full of heart. She had a presence that could light up any room, a sharp wit that made her a natural comedian, and a warmth that drew people in effortlessly. She loved fiercely, and that love leaves a lasting imprint on all who knew her.
She graduated from G-4 Academy in Lakeland, Florida, and went on to explore many creative paths. Alex was a level four figure skater, a singer, cheerleader and a writer who was working on a biography and a collection of poems at the time of her passing. She often described herself as a showrunner, bringing humor, expression, and meaning into the world around her. She was also an advocate of self-love and a healing presence for others.
Above all, Alex loved her daughter, Phoenix Alfano, with her entire being. Becoming a mother was one of the most meaningful experiences of her life, and her desire to create a better world for her child was unwavering.
Alex’s life was not without profound challenges. She was a survivor of sexual & physical abuse and carried burdens that no one should have to bear. In the wake of that trauma, she struggled with addiction and managing mental health concerns. With strength and determination, she sought healing and completed inpatient treatment at AdCare Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts and was drug and alcohol free at the time of her passing.
Despite her efforts and resilience, the weight of her experiences became too much to carry, and she died by suicide.
Her life, though far too short, was filled with beauty, brilliance, and contradiction; an intelligence beyond her years, a deeply spiritual nature, and a softness that coexisted with her strength. She expressed herself boldly, with a love for fashion, beauty, and artistry, appearing vibrantly striking on the outside as she was within. She was grounded, genuine, and deeply human.
Alex believed in universal source energy, and in spirit, her essence continues beyond physical death. She will live eternally in the beauty of our world, the love she gave, the laughter she sparked, and in the stories that will continue to be told, as well as in many unseen ways she remains connected to all those who love her.
Though her physical life has ended, Alex’s essence, energy, & love remains. She was, and will always be, a one-of-a-kind force of nature.
Her family has honored her final wishes by entrusting her to Williamsburg Funeral Home, 3 South Haydenville, MA for cremation. There will be no viewing or burial. The family will hold a memorial service for her in Springfield, MA, upon the return of her remains, followed by a celebration of life in Daytona Beach, FL.
